Common Terms
This page explains common terms you may see across PerLod services, billing, Dash, and support workflows.
Service
A service is an active product or resource attached to your account.
Examples include:
- VPS
- Dedicated Server
- GPU Dedicated Server
- Domain
Dash
Dash refers to the account dashboard where you manage your active services, billing, profile, team access, and support activity.
It is different from the front side of the website, which is mainly used for browsing and ordering.
Invoice
An invoice is the billing record created for an order, renewal, or other payable action.
It usually includes:
- the billed item
- the total amount
- the due date
- the current payment status
Billing Cycle
A billing cycle is the payment term attached to a service.
Examples may include:
- monthly
- quarterly
- semi-annually
- annually
The billing cycle affects when renewal and payment are expected.
Due Date
The due date is the date by which an invoice should be paid.
Paying before the due date helps avoid service interruption or lifecycle issues.
Wallet Balance
Wallet balance is the credit available in your account for billing-related actions.
It may be used to help cover future invoice payments depending on the billing flow shown in Dash.
Top Up
Top up means adding funds to your wallet balance through the billing section.
This is commonly used when you want to add credit in advance for future payments.
Provisioning
Provisioning is the process of preparing a service after the order is placed and payment is confirmed.
A service may remain in a setup state until provisioning is complete.
Active
Active means a service, member, or other account item is currently in a normal usable state.
The exact meaning depends on context, but it generally indicates good standing or availability.
Pending
Pending means something is still in progress and not fully completed yet.
This may apply to:
- service setup
- payment confirmation
- domain processing
- transfer workflows
- invitations
- support activity
Suspension
Suspension means a service is temporarily unavailable or restricted.
This is usually related to lifecycle, billing, or administrative reasons.
Termination
Termination means a service has reached the end of its lifecycle and is no longer active.
A terminated service may require a new order if access is needed again.
Renewal
Renewal is the process of extending a service or domain so it continues beyond the current billing or registration period.
Reinstall
Reinstall means deploying the operating system again from a clean state.
This is usually a destructive service action and may erase existing data.
IPMI
IPMI is a low-level remote access method that may be available for some Dedicated Server or GPU Dedicated Server services.
It is typically used for recovery, troubleshooting, or hardware-level access.
Ticket
A ticket is a support conversation opened through the support section.
It is used to report problems, ask account-related questions, or follow up on an operational issue.
Ticket Status
Ticket status shows the current state of a support request, such as whether it is open, answered, on hold, or closed.
Customer Care
Customer Care is the first support layer that receives new tickets.
If needed, a ticket may be answered there directly or referred to the related department for deeper review.
Domain Transfer
A domain transfer is the process of moving a domain from one provider to another.
This usually involves additional approval or authorization steps.
EPP Code
An EPP code is the authorization code commonly used during a domain transfer.
It helps confirm that the transfer request is valid.
Transfer Lock
Transfer lock is a domain protection setting that helps prevent unauthorized transfer requests.
It may need to be disabled before transferring a domain away.
Nameservers
Nameservers control where a domain points for DNS management.
They are commonly reviewed when connecting a domain to a website, platform, or DNS provider.
DNSSEC
DNSSEC is a domain-related security feature used to help protect DNS integrity.
If supported, it may be managed from the domain section in Dash.
