Buying a VPS
This guide explains how to order a VPS from PerLod and what to expect before your service becomes active.
Before you start
Before placing your order, it helps to know:
- which VPS type fits your use case
- your preferred server location
- the operating system you want
- how much CPU, RAM, and storage you need
- your preferred billing term
If you are still comparing options, start from the VPS overview page first.
Step 1: Start from the VPS pages
You can begin from the main VPS page or from a VPS type page.
Depending on your needs, available VPS categories may include:
- Linux VPS
- Windows VPS
- Forex VPS
- MikroTik VPS
- Storage VPS
- Web Hosting VPS
The main VPS page helps you compare categories. A VPS type page helps you focus on a more specific use case.
Step 2: Choose a VPS type
Before selecting a plan, choose the VPS category that best matches your intended workload.
For example:
- Linux VPS for flexible server administration
- Windows VPS for Remote Desktop and Windows-based software
- Forex VPS for trading-related workloads
- MikroTik VPS for network-focused use cases
- Storage VPS for capacity-focused storage workloads
- Web Hosting VPS for website and hosting-related environments
Choose the category that matches how you plan to use the service.
Step 3: Select a plan
After choosing a VPS category, review the available plans and select the one that matches your resource requirements.
When comparing plans, usually focus on:
- vCPU
- RAM
- storage capacity
- storage type
- location
- included traffic or network details
- billing term
Use this step to narrow the options and choose the plan that best fits your expected workload.
Step 4: Configure the server
After selecting a VPS plan, continue to the configuration step.
Depending on the VPS type and current setup, this step may include options such as:
- server location
- operating system and version
- network options
- additional public IP addresses
- support or monitoring options
- billing term
The visible options may vary depending on the selected VPS type.
Step 5: Review the order
Before checkout, review the full order carefully.
Make sure to confirm:
- selected VPS plan
- selected location
- operating system
- billing term
- any selected extras or add-ons
- final price
This is the best time to catch mistakes before payment.
Step 6: Complete payment
Once everything looks correct, continue to payment and complete the order.
After successful payment, the service moves into provisioning.
Standard VPS services are usually prepared shortly after payment, although the exact setup time can vary depending on the VPS type and selected options.
After purchase
Once your VPS is ready, it will appear in Dash for management.
From there, you can usually:
- open the service details page
- check the current status
- review hardware and access information
- use available management actions
- review billing and lifecycle details
If the service is not active yet
If the order is paid but the service is not yet active:
- allow a reasonable provisioning window
- refresh Dash and check the service status
- review whether the invoice shows as paid
If the delay continues, contact support and include:
- service ID if available
- invoice number
- the VPS type you ordered
- the location you selected
