Buying a Domain
This guide explains how to register a new domain or transfer an existing domain to PerLod.
Before you start
Before placing your order, it helps to know:
- the exact domain name you want
- the domain extension you want
- whether you want to register a new domain or transfer an existing one
- your preferred registration term
- whether you have access to the current registrar if you plan to transfer
Step 1: Start from the Domain page
You can begin from the main Domain page on the PerLod website.
From there, you can choose between two main paths:
- Search Domain for a new registration
- Transfer Domain for moving an existing domain to PerLod
This is the main entry point for domain ordering.
Step 2: Search or transfer
Registering a new domain
If you want to register a new domain:
- open the search flow
- enter the domain name you want
- review the search results
- choose an available domain
- continue to the registration flow
Search results may show:
- available extensions
- unavailable results
- pricing for available domains
- register actions for available options
Always review the exact spelling and extension before continuing.
Transferring a domain
If you want to transfer an existing domain:
- open the transfer flow
- enter the domain name
- confirm that the domain is eligible for transfer
- provide the authorization code if required
- continue to the transfer order flow
Before starting a transfer, make sure the domain is unlocked and that you can access any required approval or authorization steps.
Step 3: Configure the order
Depending on whether you are registering or transferring, the configuration step may include:
- selected domain name
- registration or transfer term
- authorization code for transfers
- optional extension bundle suggestions for registrations
The visible options may vary depending on the order type.
Step 4: Review the order
Before checkout, review the full order carefully.
Make sure to confirm:
- selected domain name
- selected extension
- registration or transfer type
- selected term
- final price
This is the best time to catch mistakes before payment.
Step 5: Complete payment
Once everything looks correct, continue to payment and complete the order.
After successful payment, the domain order moves into processing.
For new registrations, activation usually happens after the order is processed. For transfers, completion time may depend on the transfer process and required approval steps.
After purchase
Once the domain is attached to your account, you can manage it in Dash.
From there, you can usually:
- review the domain status
- open the domain details page
- manage nameservers and related settings
- review billing and renewal information
If the domain is unavailable
If the domain you want is already taken, you will need to choose a different available name or extension.
Always review the search results carefully before continuing.
If the transfer does not complete immediately
Domain transfers can take longer than standard registrations.
If a transfer remains pending:
- confirm that all required transfer steps were completed
- verify that the authorization code was entered correctly
- make sure the domain is unlocked
- allow time for transfer processing
If the process appears delayed, contact support and include:
- the domain name
- whether this is a registration or transfer
- the related invoice number if available
